Browser-Based App = Easy Data Deletion: QuoteCreator stores ALL your data locally in your browser. To delete your data, simply clear site data through QuoteCreator settings or your browser's privacy settings. No server-side data exists to delete.
What Data Does QuoteCreator Store?
QuoteCreator is a local-first application that stores all data exclusively in your browser's secure storage:
- Estimates and quotes you've created
- Line items and pricing information
- Customer information (if you've entered any)
- Company settings and branding preferences
- Clio OAuth tokens (encrypted, if you've connected to Clio)
Important: We do NOT store any of your business data on our servers. Everything stays in your browser.
How to Delete Your Data
Choose one of the following methods to permanently delete all QuoteCreator data from your browser:
Method 1: Clear Site Data via QuoteCreator Settings (Recommended)
- Open QuoteCreator in your browser
- Click Settings
- Scroll to the Data Management section
- Click Clear All Data
- Confirm the action when prompted
Result: All QuoteCreator data is permanently deleted from your browser, including estimates, settings, and Clio OAuth tokens. You can continue using QuoteCreator with a fresh start.
Method 2: Clear Browser Data via Browser Settings
- Open your browser's Settings or Preferences
- Navigate to Privacy or Privacy & Security
- Find Clear browsing data or Site data
- Select Cookies and site data
- Filter or search for QuoteCreator or quotecreator.lexopoly.com
- Clear data for that specific site
Result: All QuoteCreator data is permanently deleted from your browser. You can access QuoteCreator again with a fresh start.
⚠️ Warning: Both methods permanently delete all your estimates, quotes, customer information, and settings. This action cannot be undone. We recommend exporting important estimates as PDFs before deleting data.
What About PDFs and Clio Data?
PDF Files
If you've generated and downloaded PDF files, these files are stored separately from QuoteCreator's browser data:
- Clearing browser data does NOT delete downloaded PDF files
- To delete PDFs, open your Downloads folder and manually delete them
Clio Uploaded Documents
If you've used the "Upload to Clio" feature, those documents now exist in your Clio account:
- Deleting QuoteCreator browser data does NOT delete documents already uploaded to Clio
- To delete documents from Clio, log in to Clio and delete them from the relevant matter
- To disconnect QuoteCreator from your Clio account, go to QuoteCreator Settings → Disconnect Clio (before clearing data)
Revoking Clio Access
If you want to revoke QuoteCreator's access to your Clio account:
- Log in to Clio
- Go to Settings → Integrations → Connected Apps
- Find QuoteCreator and click Revoke Access
This permanently prevents QuoteCreator from accessing your Clio account, even if you use the app again in the future.
Verification
To verify that your data has been deleted:
- After clearing site data: Open QuoteCreator and you'll see the initial welcome screen (as if you're using it for the first time)
- Browser developer tools: Open browser DevTools → Application → Storage to confirm QuoteCreator storage is empty
Server-side verification not needed: Since we don't store your business data on any servers, there's no server-side data to check or delete.
