Welcome to QuoteCreator! This guide will help you create your first professional estimate in minutes.

What is QuoteCreator?

QuoteCreator is a tool that helps you create professional estimates and quotes for your clients. Whether you're a painter, consultant, attorney, handyman, or any other service professional, QuoteCreator makes it easy to generate polished estimates quickly.

Your First Estimate in 5 Minutes

Step 1: Open QuoteCreator

Go to quotecreator.lexopoly.com in your web browser.

Step 2: Create a New Estimate

  1. Click "New Estimate" from the home screen
  2. You'll see the estimate form - ready to fill out

Step 3: Fill in Client Information

Client Name (required)
This is who you're sending the estimate to.

Example: "Smith Construction" or "John Doe"

Matter/Project Name (required)
What's the project or service?

Example: "Kitchen Remodel" or "Brand Strategy Consultation"

Matter Number (optional)
Your internal project reference number.

Example: "2025-001" or "SMITH-KIT"

Notes (optional)
Add terms, conditions, or special instructions. This appears at the bottom of your PDF.

Example: "Payment due within 30 days. 50% deposit required to begin work."

Step 4: Add Line Items

Each line item represents a task, service, or product you're charging for.

Description: What is this charge for?

Example: "Labor - Kitchen Cabinet Installation (8 hours)"

Quantity: How many units?

Example: 8 (hours), 100 (square feet), or 1 (project)

Rate: Price per unit

Example: $75.00 per hour

Amount: Calculated automatically

Example: 8 × $75.00 = $600.00

Step 5: Set Tax Rate (Optional)

The default tax rate is 8%. You can change this to match your local sales tax rate, or set it to 0% if no tax applies.

Want to change the default for all future estimates?

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Change "Default Tax Rate"
  3. All new estimates will use this rate

Step 6: Review and Save

Before you save, review:

Click "Save Estimate" at the bottom of the page.

Step 7: View and Share Your Estimate

After saving, you'll see your estimate in the Estimates list.

To view: Click on any estimate to see details

To share:

  1. Click "Export as PDF"
  2. PDF opens in a new tab
  3. Share it:
    • Email: Attach PDF to your email
    • Text/Message: Share the PDF file
    • Print: Print a physical copy
    • Download: Save to your device

After 1 Free Estimate: You'll see a prompt to purchase a license ($12.99 one-time payment). Click "Purchase License" to unlock unlimited estimates.

Tips for Creating Professional Estimates

Be Descriptive

❌ "Painting - $500"
✅ "Interior painting - Living room and hallway (2 coats, primer included) - $500"

Break Down Labor and Materials

Line Item 1: Labor - Painting (8 hours @ $50/hr) = $400
Line Item 2: Materials - Paint and supplies = $100

Use Clear Project Names

❌ "Job #1"
✅ "Smith Residence - Kitchen Remodel"

Include Notes for Terms

"Payment due within 30 days. 50% deposit required to begin work. Estimate valid for 30 days from date of issue."

Go to Settings to set:

Backup Your License

After purchasing, create a backup of your license:

  1. Go to Settings → Backup & Restore
  2. Click "Export License"
  3. Save the file somewhere safe (cloud storage, password manager, etc.)

This protects your license if you ever clear your browser history or switch devices.

Common Questions

Q: Do I need to create an account?
A: No! QuoteCreator works entirely in your browser. No login or account needed.

Q: Where is my data stored?
A: Your data is stored in your browser on your device. We don't have access to your estimates - they stay completely private.

Q: Can I use this on multiple devices?
A: Yes! Export your license on Device A, import on Device B. Your estimates won't sync automatically (each device is independent), but your license works everywhere.

Q: What if I clear my browser history?
A: Your estimates and license may be deleted. Always export your license first! Check your email for your license key - you can always re-enter it.

Q: Is this a subscription?
A: No! $12.99 is a one-time payment for unlimited lifetime access.

Q: Does this work offline?
A: Yes! After the first load, QuoteCreator works offline. You can create estimates without internet.
