Troubleshooting Activation Issues
"Invalid license key format"
Cause: License key doesn't match the correct format
Fix:
- Double-check you copied the full key from email
- Make sure you included all dashes (
-)
- Verify it starts with
QC-
- Try typing it manually instead of copy/paste
Valid format: QC-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX
Example: QC-A1B2-C3D4-E5F6-G7H8
"Failed to activate license"
Cause: Possible browser issue or corrupted data
Fix:
- Refresh the page and try again
- Clear your browsing history and try re-entering the key
- Try a different browser
- Contact support if issue persists
License Keeps Disappearing
Cause: You're using Incognito/Private mode, or browser auto-clears data
Fix:
- Don't use Incognito/Private browsing mode
- Check browser settings for auto-clear data
- Create a backup regularly
- Some corporate IT policies auto-clear browser data - restore from backup after each clear
Best Practices
Do This:
- Keep the license email - Don't delete it
- Create a backup right after activation (Settings → Backup)
- Store the .qclic file safely (cloud storage, password manager, etc.)
- Use regular browsing mode (not incognito)
Avoid This:
- Deleting the license email
- Clearing browser data without backing up first
- Using incognito/private mode for regular work
- Sharing your license key publicly (it's tied to your purchase)
